The Settings tab groups everything into three main areas - Sharing, Network and File Manager - plus Premium, feedback and legal links. This page explains every setting and its default.

Premium

At the top of Settings you see your Premium status, or an Unlock all features button. Everdisk is free to use with a few limits; a one-time Premium Lifetime purchase removes them. See Premium at the end of this page.

Sharing settings

General

• Start device sharing automatically - start sharing as soon as you open the app. (Premium.)
• Share Documents Folder - share the app’s own Documents folder. On by default.
• Notify before disconnecting - remind you to reopen the app before the system suspends it in the background. Off by default; asks for notification permission the first time.

Device Profile

• Device Name - the name other devices see for you on the network. Tap to edit. (Premium.)
• Device Avatar - the icon and background color for your device. You can pick an icon, a background gradient, or choose an avatar from Photos. (Premium.)
• Regenerate Name & Avatar and Regenerate Avatar - get a new random name and/or avatar. (Free.)

Access

• Login and Password - require a sign-in for the Browser, Computer and Other Apps connections.
• Files Editing - let connected devices upload, rename and delete. On by default.
• Blocked Devices - manage the devices you have blocked.

Connections

Turn each server on or off. All four are on by default, and each has an info (ⓘ) button with connection instructions:

• TV & Media Center (DLNA)
• Browser (HTTP)
• Computer (WebDAV)
• Other Apps & Devices (FTP)

Photos

• Format - Original or Most Compatible (JPEG).
• Quality - Original, High, Medium or Low.

Anything other than Original converts photos as they are shared, which is slower. Conversion is a Premium feature.

Videos

• Format - Original or Most Compatible (H.264 MP4).
• Quality - Original, High, Medium or Low.

Same idea as Photos: Original is fastest, and conversion is Premium. Lower the quality if an older TV can’t play a video.

Advanced

• HTTP Port (default 80), WebDAV Port (default 8080), FTP Port (default 2121). DLNA chooses its port automatically. (Changing ports is Premium; free users can see the values.)

DLNA Thumbnails

• Show Thumbnails - publish preview images for TVs. On by default (free).
• Choose which sizes to publish: Small (160px), Medium (640px), Large (1024px), Extra Large (4096px).

Network settings

• File Transfers - use Wi-Fi only, or Wi-Fi & Cellular Data, for downloads and uploads. Default Wi-Fi.
• Parallel Transfer Limit - how many transfers run at once. Default 5.
• Background Transfers - keep transfers going while you use other screens. On by default.
• Thumbnails for Files - whether to fetch thumbnails for files on other devices over Wi-Fi only or also cellular. Default Wi-Fi.

File Manager settings

• Permanently Delete Files - delete immediately with no trash. Off by default. See Access & Privacy.
• Reset All Notice Messages - bring back the tip banners you have closed.
• Thumbnail Cache - see how much space cached thumbnails use, and Clear Thumbnail Cache.

Feedback and legal

At the bottom you can Rate this App, Send Feedback, Get More Apps, and open the Terms and Conditions and Privacy Policy.

Premium Lifetime

Everdisk is free to use. A single Premium Lifetime purchase - a one-time payment, not a subscription - unlocks:

• Unlimited Folders - share more than 5 folders.
• Unlimited Connections - save more than 10 servers on the Devices tab.
• Photo & Video Conversion - share in any quality other than Original.
• Custom Ports - set your own HTTP, WebDAV and FTP ports.
• Auto-Start Sharing - start sharing automatically when you open the app.
• Device Customization - a custom device name, avatar icon, background gradient, or photo avatar.

Premium is tied to your Apple ID. Use Restore Purchases to unlock it on your other devices signed in with the same Apple ID.
