Music library - your music library settings like automatic sync, metadata reading, loading of album artworks, playlists are located here.
Online music synchronization - when enabled tracks from your network accounts will be automatically added to your music library. But if you want to play them offline you need to download them manually. For the best performance of this feature, you need to set "Synchronized folders". In this case, the application will scan all selected folders to find supported audio files and add them to the library. You can start/stop synchronization by tapping on the corresponding menu action.
Online music synchronization works only when the app is in the foreground. That's why sync may take a long time. If you need to speed up the process - just enable background synchronization and connect a charger to your device.
There is a life hack: if you have large music collection online music synchronization may take a long time as it works only when the app is active. In this case, you need to enable background synchronization, connect a charger, and start the audio player with repeat all tracks in queue enabled. According to the iOS specification, the app will remain active in the background if music from that app is playing. Then you may turn off sound and leave your device for one night. It should complete all online music synchronization till morning.
Metadata synchronization - when enabled tracks metadata will be loaded automatically and tracks that appeared in your library will be grouped by Artist/Genre/Album. You can change the speed of metadata reading if you need to load data faster but that may use extra energy. You can also disable the metadata reader and show file names instead of tags information. Metadata reader only updates metadata in your music library and does not change files stored in your cloud account or local storage. If you want to edit metadata for audio files use the corresponding action from the options menu. When the background synchronization checkbox is checked - the metadata reader works in background mode. There is a life hack: if you have a large music collection, metadata fetching may take a long time as it works only when the app is active. In this case, you need to enable background synchronization, connect the charger, and start the audio player with repeat all tracks in queue enabled. According to the iOS specification, the app will remain active in the background if music from that app is playing. Then you may turn off sound and leave your device for one night. It should complete all metadata synchronization till morning.
