Evermusic Guide: Settings

On this screen, you can access the application settings and upgrade it to the Premium version.

evermusic settings screen

Upgrade to Premium: upgrade the application to the Premium version and remove all limits. Currently, the free version of the application has one in-app purchase that allows you to remove all restrictions and upgrade to the Premium version. This is a lifetime purchase and it will work on every iOS device connected to the same iTunes account. To restore your purchase on the new iOS device just use the "Restore purchases" menu. Since the app does not have a subscription model and only a one lifetime in-app purchase - purchases on iOS and Mac versions of the app are different so you can upgrade only the version that you need.

evermusic upgrade to premium screen

Evermusic Pro (app with red icon) has the same functionality as Evermusic Free (blue icon) with activated purchase. So there is no need to install a "red" app if you have already upgraded the "blue" app with in-app purchase. These apps have different bundle id so if you activate in-app purchase in the "blue" app you will not be able to install the "red" app for free.

Yo can read more about differences between Evermusic and Evermusic premium [here]:

Restore purchases: if you already purchased the app and reinstall it again you can use this menu to restore your purchase and continue using the Premium version.

Try Premium for free: you can upgrade to the Premium version for free but for a limited time only using this menu. Just watch an advertisement or tell your friends about this app to get the Premium version for free.

What’s new: see what is new in the updated application. This menu item is visible only after an update.

Once you've enabled both of these features, open any folder, album, artist, genre within Evermusic. You'll notice a "Continue Playback" button at the top of the screen, along with the last saved song playback position. To restore the audio player queue and playback progress, simply tap on the "Continue Playback" button. If you want to restore playback for an individual file, tap on that specific file.

Music library

Your music library settings like automatic sync, metadata reading, loading of album artworks, playlists are located here.

evermusic music library screen

Metadata Synchronization: When you import tracks into your library, Evermusic's metadata reader goes to work behind the scenes. This process reads all the metadata from your tracks and neatly organizes them by Artist, Album, Genre, and Composer. You have the flexibility to adjust the speed of metadata reading to load data faster, but keep in mind that this may consume more energy.

If you prefer, you can also disable the metadata reader and display file names instead of tag information. Importantly, the metadata reader only updates metadata within your music library; it doesn't make any changes to the files stored in your cloud account or local storage. If you ever need to edit metadata for your audio files, you can do so effortlessly using the built-in tags editor, which you can activate from the corresponding action in the options menu.

When the background synchronization checkbox is selected, the metadata reader operates in the background mode. However, it's important to note that if the application consumes significant energy while running in the background during audio playback, the iOS operating system may suspend the app.

Therefore, if you have an extensive music collection, it's advisable to utilize the desktop version of the application for metadata synchronization. You can then make use of the data backup and restore feature to transfer the synchronized music library from your desktop, which is available in the app settings. If needed, the 'Reload metadata' action can be used to flag all files in your music library as having missing metadata, prompting the metadata reader to refresh the metadata for every file in your music library.

Online Music Synchronization: Automatic online music synchronization simplifies the process of adding tracks to your library. To activate this feature, navigate to music library settings and select sync folders. Once enabled, the application scans all selected folders, identifies supported audio files, and seamlessly integrates them into your library.

You can start or stop synchronization by tapping on the corresponding menu action. Online music synchronization operates exclusively when the app is in the foreground, which means synchronization may take some time. To expedite the process, you can leave your app open, connect it to a power source, and enable the 'Screen' -> 'Always active' option in the application settings.

Alternatively, you can perform online music synchronization using the desktop version of the app and transfer the music library to the iOS version via the data backup and restore feature. You also have the option to set the frequency of online music synchronization. If set to "Immediately," online sync will initiate each time you open the application.

evermusic online music synchronization screen

Offline Music Synchronization: This option scans all local folders situated in the application's "Documents" directory to identify supported audio files. All these local files are seamlessly added to your music library. It's worth noting that local files located on your device but outside this application's "Documents" directory must be manually added to the music library, as the app doesn't have access to files outside its designated directory, adhering to iOS/MacOS security protocols. Periodically initiating offline music synchronization is advisable to ensure your music library stays up to date with your local files.
