  • How do I sync Evermusic?
Metadata Synchronization: When you add tracks to the library, the metadata reader gets to work. This background process reads all metadata from your tracks and organizes them by Artist, Album, Genre, and Composer. You have the flexibility to adjust the speed of metadata reading to load data faster, but be aware that this may use more energy. You can also disable the metadata reader and display file names instead of tag information. Importantly, the metadata reader only updates metadata in your music library and does not alter the files stored in your cloud account or local storage. If you wish to edit metadata for audio files, you can do so using the built-in tags editor, which you can activate from the corresponding action in the options menu. When the background synchronization checkbox is checked, the metadata reader works in background mode. However, please note that if the application consumes significant energy in the background during audio playback, the iOS operating system may suspend the app. So, if you have a large music collection, it's advisable to use the desktop version of the application for metadata synchronization. You can then use the data backup and restore feature to transfer the synchronized music library from the desktop, which is available in app settings. The 'Reload metadata' action will flag all files in your music library as having missing metadata, triggering the metadata reader to refresh the metadata for every file in your music library. Online Music Synchronization: Automatic online music sync allows you to add tracks from connected cloud services to the music library automatically. To activate this feature, head to music library settings and select sync folders. With this option enabled, the application scans all selected folders, identifies supported audio files, and seamlessly integrates them into your library. You can start or stop synchronization by tapping on the corresponding menu action. Online music synchronization operates exclusively when the app is in the foreground, which means synchronization may take some time. To speed up the process, leave your app open, connect it to a power source, and enable 'Screen' -> 'Always active' option in application settings. Alternatively, you can perform online music synchronization on the desktop version of the app and transfer the music library to the iOS version using the data backup restore feature. You can also set how often you want to synchronize your online music library. If you set it to "immediately," online sync will start every time you open the application. Offline Music Synchronization: This option scans all local folders located in the application's "Documents" directory to find supported audio files. All these local files are seamlessly added to your music library. Local files located on your device but not within this application must be added to the music library manually, as the app does not have access to files located outside the application "Documents" directory, as restricted by iOS/MacOS security. It is advisable to periodically initiate offline music synchronization to keep your music library updated with your local files. Offline Folders: Offline mode is a handy feature that lets you access your favorite music even when you're not connected to the internet. When you enable offline mode for any album, artist, playlist, genre, or remote folder, all the files within that collection will be automatically downloaded to your device for offline playback. You can conveniently access these files in the "Offline Folders" section of the app. What's even more convenient is that when you add new files to the remote server in the folder you've marked for offline use, these new additions will also be automatically downloaded to your device. It ensures that you have the latest music ready for offline enjoyment. If you ever need to synchronize an offline folder from your cloud service manually, here's how you can do it: Simply tap the three dots located in the top-right corner of the app, and select the "Synchronize" option. This allows you to update your offline collection with the latest tracks from the cloud service at your convenience. For those who like to customize their experience further, you can adjust the synchronization timeout settings in the application settings to suit your preferences. This way, you have full control over when and how your offline collection is updated, ensuring you always have your favorite tunes available, even without an internet connection. Read more

  • I’ve connected my WD MyCloudEX2Ultra / WD MyCloud Mirror to Evermusic, but I can’t see any folders. What should I do?
When you add a connection in the app through Connections > Connect a Cloud Service > My Cloud Home, it's designed to officially support WD MyCloud Home devices. However, if you’ve been able to connect your WD MyCloud EX2 Ultra, WD MyCloud Mirror, or any other WD MyCloud Storage, here’s a workaround to help you use it. To make this work, simply create a folder in the app’s file manager after connecting and upload your music files there. It appears WD’s server only allows access to app-created folders in a “sandbox mode” for these devices, so this folder will only be accessible from the Evermusic app. Please use Evermusic’s file manager to upload your songs to this folder. Once the files are uploaded, you can delete the local copies from your device and listen directly from your NAS. Here’s how to remotely access your WD MyCloud Storage music files: 1. Connect to WD MyCloud Storage: go to Connections > Connect a Cloud Service > My Cloud Home. 2. Create a folder on the connected cloud service (visible only in the app). 3. Upload local media files from your device to this folder. 4. Delete the local files from your device once the upload is complete (if you need to free up space). 5. Start streaming by selecting any uploaded media file in the folder created online.

My current iPhone12’s battery is dying, so I’m thinking of getting a new phone. How much does the backupfile actually transfer to a new device? Do I need to manually download all my music and their audio tags again? I haven’t connected to a cloud service yet… and I don’t know the most convenient way to get Evermusic on my future iphone to be the exact same data wise as this one.

Hello,

Here’s what you need to do in this case:

1. **Create a Backup File**:

- In the app settings, create a data backup file. Make sure to include artworks, the music library database, and app settings.

2. **Transfer Files via Wi-Fi Drive**:

- Open the app and navigate to **Connections > Wi-Fi Drive**. Start the Wi-Fi Drive.

- On your desktop computer (Mac or Windows), open a web browser and enter the provided address. This will show the contents of the app's Documents directory.

- Download the backup file and any other necessary files (like your music files) to your desktop.

3. **Restore Files on Your New Device**:

- On your new device, activate the Wi-Fi Drive and upload the backup file and music files from your desktop to the app's Documents directory.

- Open the app on your iPhone and tap the data backup file to restore your music library, artworks, and settings.

4. **Reindex Local Files (if needed)**:

- After the restore process, you may need to reindex your local files.

- Go to **Settings > Music Library > Offline Music Sync** and tap **Start Local Folders Scanning**. This will rescan all folders and files in the app’s Documents directory and update your music library.

Following these steps should restore your app data and ensure everything works correctly on your new device.

Best regards,

Also, please note that if your music is stored outside the app's Documents directory (for example, in other apps or folders on your device), you'll need to transfer it to your computer separately.

You updated the app and made it worse, it’s not able to process what song is being played, and the recently played is not being updated accurately, and when moving a song to music library the song has failed to appear, and you always have to scroll all the way through the music library when you first open the app because they don’t load in automatically. I liked the app when I first got it now I’m trying to figure out how to uninstall this new update. Please fix

There used to be cover pictures automatically assigned to my music files upon downloading them into this app from my dropbox. This was why I liked this app and continued using it for the past 4 years. But in this past month, there was a suddenly change and all that automatic cover pictures stopped.

Maybe it’s high time that I changed the app I use for my music files.

It’s been a good run but if this keeps up, it’s probably better to give Evermusic a bad rating and move on to the next app I can find.

Hello, after re-installing my MacBook OS I am unable to connect to my Synology NAS through the Evermusic app (it worked perfect previously, I have a Premium lifetime subscribe). Also my iPad does not connect annymore after re-installing the Evermusic app. The NAS it self works fine, I have full acces. The credentials are triple checked and oke, also the path (quickconnect) and ip are oke (tried both). The settings in my Synology NAS are not changed, I double checked the autorisation and the permissions of the NAS and my music folder, all is oke. Both my MacBook and my iPad give the same fault when trying to connect to the NAS (it is part in Dutch). Aanmeldingsfout 1003 De bewerking kon niet worden voltooid. (LSOnlineOperationErrorDomain fout 1003.) Is there something I am missing here? Thanks for your reply, BR Peter
